The default. Paid as your usual shift. You don't need to open days that went as planned.
Worked
Enter your actual time in and out and your break. Use it for overtime, coming in late, leaving early, or working a rest day or holiday.
Absent
Didn't work, not paid.
Leave
Paid or unpaid depending on the leave type you pick. It's taken from that type's balance.
Unpaid leave
Approved time off without pay.
Day off
Not a work day this time, for example your rest day was moved. Not paid as a work day, not counted as an absence.
You can also add a note for yourself, and a shift / site label if you use label-based premiums.
How overtime is counted
You don't mark overtime separately. Enter your real time in and out, and Kompyut works it out:
First it counts the hours you worked, minus your unpaid break.
Anything beyond your paid hours per day (usually 8) is overtime.
On a scheduled day, the overtime hours are taken from the time outside your scheduled shift first (coming in early or staying late). This matters when overtime falls into night hours, since those pay more.
Example: stayed late
Schedule 9 AM to 6 PM with a 1-hour break (8 hours). You worked 9 AM to 8 PM.
Same schedule. You came in at 10 AM and left at 7 PM.
Worked: 8 hours. Overtime: none. Staying an hour to make up for coming in an hour late isn't overtime, because you didn't go past 8 hours.
Example: rest day
You worked 10 hours on your rest day. The first 8 are paid at the rest day rate (130%), and the last 2 at rest day overtime (169%).
Count all hours as overtime
Some companies pay certain days entirely as overtime, for example covering someone else's shift on your day off. Tick Count all hours as overtime on that day and every hour gets the overtime rate.
Round hours like your payslip
If your payslip shows hours like 0.52, turn on rounding in Settings › Overtime & premium rules › More options. With 0.01-hour rounding, 31 minutes becomes 0.52 hours, just like most payroll systems. Otherwise Kompyut uses exact minutes.
Extra hours on the same day
Worked a separate block, like being called back at night? Open the day, choose Worked, then tap + Add hours and enter the extra block's start and end.
The extra block joins your main shift. Anything past your paid hours per day becomes overtime, and night hours get night differential as usual.
Example
Shift 9 AM to 6 PM (8 hours after break), plus a call from 10 PM to 12 AM. Total 10 hours. The 2 extra hours are overtime, and both fall in night hours (10 PM to 6 AM), so they also get night differential.
Overnight and graveyard shifts
A shift that crosses midnight belongs to the day it started. A 10 PM to 7 AM shift starting Monday night is logged on Monday.
Night differential is added automatically for hours between 10 PM and 6 AM. If your company uses different night hours, change them in Settings › Overtime & premium rules › More options.
Choose Worked and enter your actual time in and out. You're paid for the minutes you worked, so being late or leaving early lowers that day's pay automatically.
For monthly-paid employees, the missing time is deducted from your salary at your hourly rate.
Tip. Use What If → Late / early out to see how much an hour late costs before it happens.
When your schedule changes
If your shift time or work days changed on a certain date, don't just edit your schedule: that would recompute every past day too. Add a schedule change instead, in Settings › Work schedule › Schedule changes.
Days before the change keep the old schedule. Days from that date use the new one.
Example
You moved from 9 AM to 6 PM to a 10 PM to 7 AM night shift on July 1. Add a change dated July 1 with the new times. June stays on day shift, and July onwards gets night differential.
Daylight saving time (US, Canada, Australia clients)
If your shift follows a client's business hours abroad, your Philippine shift moves by an hour twice a year, because the Philippines doesn't use daylight saving time. Kompyut can follow this for you.
Set it in Settings › Work schedule: Does your shift change with daylight saving?

Your PH shift
United States, Canada
2nd Sunday of March
1 hour earlier
1st Sunday of November
1 hour later
Australia (NSW, VIC, SA, TAS, ACT)
1st Sunday of April
1 hour later
1st Sunday of October

Enter your schedule as it is today. Kompyut works out the past and future shifts from there.
Why it matters
A US client shift of 9 PM to 6 AM in winter becomes 8 PM to 5 AM in summer. That's one less hour of night differential every day, which adds up over a cutoff.
